Something wrong with eyepiece

I recently purchased an eyepiece here on AstroMart. Upon inspection I noticed it has what appears to be hundreds of little flecks on the inside of the optics. They look kind of like tiny little stress fractures that you see in plastics. I also see some opaque regions around the edge. Does anyone know what might be causing this?
Thanks,
Roger

Roger,
This sounds like mildew growing on the coatings. The unfortunate part is that these organisms exude acid and etch the coatings and possibly the glass itself. If they have been on there any time the coatings are ruined.
I bought a 14mm UWA that was infected in this way. It was totally trashed! :C So I returned it for a refund. If I were you this is exactly what I would do.
