I intend to leave my pier and mount outdoor by building a suitable box covering the mount. The box should:
1. prevent inside temp. from not over 100F (Thailand ambient air in summer could be a bit over 104F)
2. withstand heavy rain, will not drip on the mount inside
3. prevent bug
4. low humidity

Any suggestion as to what materials to use, design, etc.

Thanks in advance.

Now I temporarily cover it by a corrugated paper box with string attached to the leg and then covered by tyvek. The wind will not blow it away, I'm sure. The inside temperature is just less than 100F, which is fine for the electronic circuit inside the mount. But I'm not sure about rain protection.
Need something more robust and protective.

Chote,
I have a similar situation. Here in Houston, Texas, our summers are about the same as the weather you have year round in Bangkok. I use 2 large plastic trash bags (one inside the other for a double layer). Here in the US they are sold as "Contractor Cleanup Bags" at hardware stores. These heavy-duty bags are 3 mils thick, about 1 meter tall, maybe .75 meter diameter. It works very well, but the bags eventually need to be replaced. Also, some oxidation still occurs just from exposure to the heat and humidity. It would be nice to keep a small nitrogen purge under the bag, but I haven't arranged that yet.
By the way, I used to travel to Asia on business, and Bangkok was always a favorite stop. Although the traffic was bad, the people were always friendly.
All the best - Glenn

During the year I sometimes erect my Kendrick Shelter Dome for long periods and leave my gear setup in my backyard. (Hopefully I'll get to the obs this year and that will no longer be necessary )

I use a 10 x 13 heavy duty tarp for the rainfly and have made up some heavy "guy" wires to keep things in place. Last year a surprise tornadic thunderstorm was unable to move it from its spot and there were confirmed 100mph microbursts in my area!

I would however recommend removing electronics during electrical storm season. To use the shelter dome you will need to be able to stake it or build a frame for the bottom to keep it spread out.
