Hi Folks
I've owned an Advanced Series CG-5GT Computerized Mount for several
months and enjoy it thoroughly. Its the latest version.
Only real hiccup I've come across has been an off the wall slew which
I contribute to inadequate power supply meaning when I power the mount
from an external battery.

Anyways I've purchased a new Scope WO FLT132 and its been suggested
this mount will not support it adequately.
I've been dabbling with some AP but nothing significant meaning no
exposures longer than 45 seconds.
I really dont want to part with this setup if its not required.

Have any of you successfully had a 5" refractor or weight capacity of
20lbs in place and run well?
Various reports about this subject all contradicting.I believe part has to do with feedback based on the older version.

Thanks in advance
Troy

Troy I am no expert but sounds like the mount is already working for you. Celestron sends it out w/ a C11 which I do believe is a little much. You are around 10 lbs. under that. You could try doing a degrease and polish if you feel capable. I know on the Meade mounts it makes a tremendous difference having owned a LXD55 that I hypertuned and currently a LXD75 that I had Dr. Clay do. I have never done AP so maybe not qualified to answer but sounds easily doable. I did run my C11 on the LXD55 which was 31.5 lbs dressed for viewing, I had added Walnut legs. I have also mounted a 6" ED/APO Meade (trimmed to 26.5lbs) on the 75 model and was suprised by how stable it was. Probably won't do it anymore though as it looked huge on the LXD75. I have heard that William Optics 132 is nice, hope you enjoy it!
