Hello, All

I have a CG5-GT on the way for my C8/WO SD66 combo. I am looking at methods to autoguide this mount. I have a Meade DSI color (first version) that I am not using, but I am wondering if I would have better luck with the Orion Starshoot autoguider. Software, ease of use etc matter. I will be using an older Dell laptop running XP to do this. Up till now I have been manually guiding, so this is going to be a learning curve...

Thanks and Clear Skies.

It is what it is...

Get PHD guiding software (Free) and you can use ASCOM (Free) or buy a GPUSB device to connect the computer to the mount. The DSI will work well, I use one now, and with these you can guide effectively.

Thanks and Clear Skies.

I never had a problem autoguiding the CG5 with the DSI. I believe it's actually more sensitive than the Orion. The Orion does have an ST4 output if'n you wanna guide that way, but Shoestring's GP-USB works well, too.
