CGEM max weight capacity

Hi, I have a CGEM that I would like to put either Astro Tech 10"{29.5}or {preferably} 12"{40.5 plus rings} reflector on.
I think the 10" would work. Would it be insane to put the 12" on?
I read there's a guy in Europe who put a 12" on his CGEM.
I will be using it for visual only. Thanks for the advice. De Lorme

Depends on focal ratio. At f/4 - f/5, it is doable...but won't be the Rock of Gibraltar.

Hi Ron, Forgot to say that I'm using a Celestron 6" refractor now. Would the 10" be a drastic improvement over the 10" reflector? I await your reply eagerly! Thanks fo the help. De Lorme
