EQ6-R Pro tripod leg tip removal

Has anyone removed the bottom tips from the legs of a EQ6 R lower tripod legs? If so how did you do it? I want to install tripod levelers on the ends of each leg. To do this I need to remove the tips. 

If found out the these were glued on.  I was able to remove them easily by heating them up with a heat gun and tapping them off using a dead blow hammer with a small block placed against the rim of the leg tip.
