Lubricating a Skyview Deluxe Mount

I have aquired a SVD Mount and I am certian it has not been lubed in quite a few years. The mesh feels good but just a bit stiff. I think a good lubricant will help tremendously. The mount appears to have a removable plug on the RA axis. When removed it appears to go to the middle of the gearing section. Should I simply shoot some "white grease" in here or disassemble it and clean and lube? Not quite sure how to take it apart, so I am a little leary of doing this without proper instruction.
Suggestions or instructions anyone?
