I picked up an Orion Skyview Deluxe today, in excellent, very lightly used condition. It seems to be the newer version as the setting circle pointers are painted versus stickers. I am thinking of using this for wide field with my WO SD66. I have already mounted the 66 with Losmandy rings, any suggestions to improve this little mount (besides replacing the aluminum legs)?

On edit, BTW I paid $28 for it at the local Goodwill.... grin

Went over the mount, cleaned, de-burred, smoothed a couple of rough areas and knocked down a high spot on the sleave portion of the RA drive gear. Definitely %100 better/smoother from when I first took it home. Now if only the skies will clear a little so I can go from here. I am thinking of filling the legs with portalnd cement rather than replacing them with wood. If id doesnt work, I can still change over to wood. This mount has become my ultra economy project....so far $28, a few cents worth of lithium grease and a little time invested. Attached is with my little WO66
