Tying to I.D. the components in this setup? Anyone recognize what these may be?

I am assuming this is a scope that is for sale and your are interested in knowing what it is...

This is my guess:

The photo is not detailed enough to really know... It is clearly a reflector of some sort, probably an 8 inch and very fast, around F/4.

That leaves about 3 possibilities:

Meade S/N-8 on some generic CG-5 mount... The blue color in consistent with this.

GSO 8 inch F/4 on the GSO mount. Orion sold these on the Sky View Deluxe mount. The color is not right on the OTA for this.

Baytronix or another similar Ebay Scope. These are sold in many colors. If it is one of these, you don't want it...

My thinking: In general, whatever this is, it is very fast, F/4 or even faster. It may also be a "short tube Newtonian", it spherical mirror with barlow-like corrector in the focuser.

In any event, unless you specifically want an F/4 Newtonian and are skilled at collimation and are aware of the various liabilities of an F/4 like coma and the need for high quality eyepieces, I would avoid this scope.

That's my two cents, could be wrong.

Seller has somehow acquired this and has no details about. It requires a drive out to see it. The pics not very detailed at all.

I've had a couple people suggest to stay away as there is a possibility of just being a generic run of the mill.

or the flip side...something decent, but not really fitting my needs.

I was also considering the mount alone and if the tube was worth selling?

Thanks for the input everyone.
