Astro-imaging Suggestions?

What would you do? I find that my real love is astro-imaging. After purchasing a WO 66 Petzval for widefield imaging, and an LXD75 mount....I find that I just don't use my ole LX200 10" classic much anymore...and I am thinking that picking up a WO 110, and mounting my WO 66 as a guide might satisfy my astro-imaging quest. I hear WO may be coming out with a 110 doublet, f/6 after the first of the year...and so maybe the wait is worth it. Of course...if I win the lottery...I would also pick up an SBIG camera, and a G11 Gemini mount. But for now it's the WO on my LXD75 mount, and DSI imager.

So...my question to the imagers...would the 110 satisfy me? Would you sell the LX200 (to help fund the 110)? Or, should I keep the LX200 and buy the superwedge? Appreciate opinions...Alan

No way that 4" of aperture will make up for the loss of 10" of aperture. Now what you do with the aperture can make the difference though. So, imaging, yes, DSO no! grin

hi,

If you are going to buy a Losmandy G11 and a SBIG camera, I would suggest taking the 10" off the fork mount and mount it on the G11 using Losmandy dovetail plates. It would make a fine imaging system.

clear skies,
