Celestron 150 goto focuser

I just purchased a 150mm goto scope with a hard plastic focuser. I have heard that the focuser can be smoothed out or replaced with a Moonlite. I don't want to spend the money on a moonlite so I want to try to do something myself to get it smoother. To take off the focuser, do you just unscrew the 3 screws on the focuser itself and then just pull it off? Or is it more complicated. I have heard of collimating the focuser. How do you do that? I plan to get rid of the grease that Celestron put on it and put in some better grease (super lube) to get it smoother. Any other suggestions? Thanks.

Yep, just undo the first three screws and it pulls right off.
