My little girls "help!"

I have a TEC 140 and I left it out one night getting ready to observe. My 10 year old daughter noticed a speck of dust on the lens and to help daddy she took a tissue spit on it and "cleaned" the speck off the middle of the lens. She was very proud that the speck disappeared and that she had helped a "stunned" daddy! However, it left a streak mark on the center of the lens. It does not seem to have degraded the image at all but I am concerned that "spit" is not quite like dew and might cause long term effects. Any comments? Should I be concerned, should I get it cleaned or use the AP cleaning stuff to clean the lens? Appreciate your help on this.

Well, Roland Christen of AP has spoken about using spit to clean organic stains on lenses such as those caused by tree sap, so no harm can be done be mere spit on a lens.

I would use a traditional lens cleaning such as found here on the lens to get it as good as new:
