Has anybody built one of the equatorial platforms for a dob. I have been looking at them on the internet and to be honest $950 is a little steep for me to spend for one of these. They look very interesting. Any responses is greatly appreciated. Take care

Chris, you may want to join the yahoo group for equatorial platforms-there is a lot of information regarding building one at that site.

Chris -

Go to Cloudy Nights, and look in the Reflectors forum. There is a group there getting together to build a set of platforms (saving money by buying and machining in bulk). One of the memebrs ia machinist, who will be doing the cutting, and another is skilled with electronics and will be doing the controllers.
