I have a Coulter 3.1" Secondary Mirror on its origional mount. It appears to be contact cement with a fiberglass cloth in between. The mirror is in excellent condition except for this big piece of angle steel hanging off it back. Thanks

I recall having to do this years ago. The adhesive was probably clear epoxy. I carefully covered and masked the mirror, then I chucked the seondary in my vise and cut the adhesive with a hacksaw. Turned out fine, but you do want to weigh the risks first. Good luck!

I did it! I used a coping saw with a fine tooth metal saw blade. Tried a utility knife, wouldn't cut it. It took about two hours of slow work but well worth it. Thanks to all ans clear skies
