Just thought you all might like to see this (http://folk.uio.no/johannwi/mike/), it was a link that got posted to slashdot this morning... This design uses a circular flat mirror @ 15 degrees instead of a normal 45 degree elliptical secondary.

Seems like and interesting idea, an 18" F/8 with a 5' 4" eyepiece height...Cool, now maybe I can purchase that 67" f/3 that was for sale on here not too long ago and bring the eyepiece height down to my 6'6" height! =)

Eric, I got a quote on that for a client. As is $35,000 or finished 1/4 wave or better and coated, with delivery to Texas $95,000......and they will happily make another...

How bout BIG Binoculars???

Interesting idea. I don't think it is worth the larger secondary at 18", since you can make an 18" with an eyepiece height of around 5'6" the normal way. Might be nice for a 30-40" scope to avoid those cherry picker ladders, though.
