Scope Upgrade - 1 Yard Line

This scope started it's life as an Orion SVP 8" f4.9 Reflector.

Upgraded Secondary - Antares 1/25th wave fused silica
Moonlite Dual Rate Crayford (CR2) for Planetary & Photos
Flocked - Protostar flocking paper
New Paint (cleaner look - Tube: Dover White and Trim: Liveable Green)
Ultra Flat Black on all internals
Stainless Screws on outside (replaced black)
9x50 Finder
Only thing still working- Primary being refigured by Mark Harry.

Upgrade Philosophy: I can get the same or better view with premium optics and tweaking then with a heavier, harder to transport, harder to store mass produced bigger scope. Same View Better Back (SVBB)

Down the focuser, off the new secondary - the only DSO I can pick up right now - The Fish Head Nebula (M111?)

Cool looking scope. I'm very impressed.

Mark Harry is refiguring your mirror? Is he reasonable on his prices? I have an old Coulter 10" f/5.53 that I wouldn't mind having tweaked. It needs recopated in the worst possible way so I've been thinking of having it refigured as well. Of course if I did that I'd also have to redo the scope. Ain't rationalization the best?
