Spider and secondary design

I have used a simple homemade spider and secondary design for several years and want some advice. My design has the spider and secondary as two pieces. The secodary mirror is siliconed to the secondary holder and then the secondary holder is siliconed to the spider to allow a flexible pivot point for colimation adjustment. I have the secondary holder also attached to the spider with a tether just incase the silicone falls which it always seems to do just when you need the telescope most. What is a better way to attach the holder to the spider.

I used to make them like this before I figured out what I was doing on the lathe. The hole through the top of the holder is oversized and there's a rubber washer inside the holder to put the assembly under tension so you don't need to take up slack when adjusting one collimation screw (and to assist with the pivot action). The vanes are steel banding strap material--which I still use.
