hello there I have a question that I hope someone can help me with, in the past two years i have bought several new eyepieces, some very good ones, the other night while using them i noticed on only two of them, while using them to observe the moon in low light, what appears to be something blackish in the feild of view, this something is not visable in brighter light, i would like to know what it is , how it got there, was it something i did that caused it , and can it be cleaned it almost appears as something growing there am i crazy or what?

What design and size of scope, what length eyepiece. It is possible you are seeing the central obstruction in a newt or SCT.

Otherwise--what is the pattern of the obscuration?

As to whether you are crazy--well, let's talk about the eyepiece.
