I'm looking for an economical 2 inch widefield EP. I can't afford a nice Nagler or anything in that price range. I have been looking at Orions Q70(same as Garrett Opticals superwide) GSO's,Rini's, 38mm Erfle from Surplus Shed, etc. I'm clueless?Does anyone have experience with an Orion XT10i, or similar 10" 4.7 fast scope, that can recommend the best economical 2" EP for DSO's with the least amount of coma and distortion? I want to make the best choice with my limited budget. Also do you think a 32mm or 20mm would be used more for looking at DSO? Thanks

I don't think you will be happy with the GSO, Rini's or the Surplus Shed Erfle when working at F4.5. However, I tried my 19mm Ultra from Harry Siebert in a 10" Orion and it was really very nice right out to the edge. It is not as wide a view as some eyepieces but it is a very good preformer and available in 1.25" or 2". I think the actual FOV is about 67 degrees.

clear skies,

I just wanted to say thanks! I really appreciate your help, you guys are great! I ordered the GSO 2" 30mm SuperView for $55 (free shipping) after the Astromart 5% discount. I was thinking about ordering their 2" 2x ED barlow(found it cheaper at Garrett Opticals for 49+7 shipping, I think its exacly the same?). Would this be your recommendation for an inexpensive barlow,to be used also with 1.25" eyepieces?
