This , I realize, is probably the dumbest question of the year! I've done a bunch of playing with alt/az mounts but now I'm interested in doing some astro photo. SO- I bought a nice equitorial mount and am in the process of doing a good Polar Align. Knowing that, as soon as I have this done, I will rarely put an eye piece on it I'm not worried . BUT. , if someone wanted to do this visually, how in hell would they??

When I finally get to a star it may easily be that the eyepiece is upside down and I'd have to lay on my back amongst the tripod to look through the eyepiece.!!

How do people do this visually????? Ignorant in Vermont

After posting I just realized that with a Refractor it wouldn't matter. Only a problem with Reflector
