I have a super c8+ w/starbright from 1985 (if the date in the sort-of-manuals wasn't printed for a long time.)

It's not white or orange.

There's also a quartz clock drive and a "hand box" with all connections.

Where does this fit in the geneology?

Hi Paul and Welcome to Astromart...

When it comes to SCT's like the C-8, I suggest heading for the SCT forum as well as looking at Rod Mollise's pages. "Uncle" Rod is wrote the book when it comes to the Schmitt-Cassegrain Telescope (Choosing and Using the Schmitt-Cassegrain Telescope.)

Rod is a very helpful and friendly guy and has lots of good information on SCT's, particularly ones like yours...
