Hi, for the past few monthes I've been puruesing around the internet looking to buy my first telescope. Recently, someone offered to sell me his etx 125 pe for $625. The auto tracking looked very appealing, however, the focal length of 1900mm does not. I seen some good deals on here for some orion 80ED apos that range from $350-500 with tripods, and some of the widefield shots taken with them are pretty good. I guess my question would be then, for visual observing in wide field, which scope would be better, the etx125, or the 80ED apo? Then later on, if I decide to start hooking up a camera, which telescope would provide better wideshots of DSOs?

I think you've figured it out yourself. The 80ED will be
better for both wide-field viewing and imaging. A mount
with tracking would be nice, but is something you can
add later. Features like "go-to" where it finds objects
for you, are (IMHO) not needed at this stage, and might even
be counter-productive.
