Hi,

I was wondering....I currently have an 8" SCT and am planning to upgrade to a 14" scope. I was wondering if there is much of a difference between a 12" and a 14" scope?

Thanks,
Jeff

About two inches. grin

Seriously, the 14 has about 36% more light grasp, about 17% more resolving power. Not a big difference, but enough that I would say go to the 14 if you can afford it.

Either one is a significant step up from an 8 inch.

Best regards,
Doug

Note the considerable WEIGHT diference between 12 and 14 SCT (tube and tripod). so if you plan to move your scope around thet is somthing to consider that might outweight the apertuere difference.
