Good deep sky stuff now up?

I am finally, after almost a year with my new 8 inch, getting out to some dark skies. If the weather will cooperate, which it doesnt' look like it will, can you guys recomend some good galaxies and nebulas for me to look for? This is why I got my 8 inch. I will be in east Texas. thanks for your help.

Sagitarrius has plenty; try M22 (glob), M8 (neb), M20 (neb), M55 (glob)

M13 in Hercules is nice (glob)
Rasalgethi nice double (1 blue 1 orange) in Hercules.

M57 Ring Nebula in Lyra

M27 Dumbell Nebula

M31 Andromeda omes out a little later in the evening.

There's tons more. These are easy and give a very nice view.

This is from the RASC (Canadian) list by Alan Dyer. Alan adds nice remarks on each object

Really helpful are that showpiece objects are denoted with !!. Summer !! objects are M11, M13, M17, M6, M7, M8, M20, M27, M57. I would personally add M22 and M24.

The only Autumn !! item in the RASC list is M31. I would add M15, globular in Pegasus.

The double cluster NGC 869/884 are famous objects that somehow got excluded from the Messier list and are spectacular autumn objects. Definitely would get !! from anybody.

So all of these are don't miss objects, if you haven't seen them yet it would be worth finding.

Try NGC 7789 in Cassiopia.

7789 is a open cluster but an 8 inch scope should should show you a real treat when it comes to OC. I like that one a lot. Not as exciting as galaxies or PN but it is a dandy. One of my favorites.
