Herschel 400

Just finished my 400th object last Friday night.

It was a very good learning experience. I plan to write something up for our club newsletter. When I get it done, I'll post it on the web, and you guys can see what I did.

Congratulations on your achievement! I know how you feel. At 3:04 this A.M. I, too, logged in my 400th Herschel object. Most of my observations were with a 12.5" Portaball or with my 16" Homemade Dob with a Meade mirror which Mike Spooner refigured for me. All of my observations were made in a dark sky site in Awendaw, SC, near Charleston.

This project sure helps you learn the skies not to mention help refine observings skills.
