ALPO Lunar Club Program Question

Under 'Naked Eye Objects', two of the features are, 'Old Moon in New Moon's Arms' and 'New Moon in Old Moon's Arms'.
Huh? I need help on that one.

The Old Moon in the New Moon's Arms is what you saw this evening, a young crescent moon with ample Earthshine, if you had clear skies for the occultation of Delta Capricorni and the conjunction with Venus.

The New Moon in the Old Moon's arm is the waning crescent in the early moring prior to "New" Moon.
