I observed this very bright porthole on Jupiter on the 30th at approximately 1030UT. I promptly got out the camera and shot the attached image. Unfortunately, I don't have the exact time. I think it would be safe to say that 1030 is +/- 10 minutes of accuracy.
I haven't yet had a chance to spot this again. Has anyone else observed this recent feature? It is approximately the size of the GRS, and is very bright and easy to observe under steady conditions.
