Saturn

I know the focus at the time is on Mars; however, early morning of Oct. 4th I turned my 10 inch reflector on Saturn and got some incredible views of the planet just as the eastern skies were lighting up. The Cassini division stood out as well as I have ever seen it. Perhaps it was my imagination, but it seemed to me at times the ring actually broke up into smaller rings. At about 400x Saturn was tack sharp. One of the most beautiful views I have ever seen of this planet.
