Those confounded lights

I guess this is the best forum to post this question.

I recently upgraded my scope hauler to an '07 Chrysler mini van. I like everything about the vehicle except for the flashing lights that come on when the side doors are opened. As long as I don't use the power lift for the back and open it manually it doesn't flash or beep, so I can get away with just not opening the side doors, but it sure isn't as convenient. But even if you open the side doors manually the warning lights flash. Does anyone know if the warning lights can be programed to not flash?

It really has one great feature in that you can turn off all the interior lights and dim the gauges with the twist of a dial. And the stow and go seats are awesome. This will enable me to have plenty of room when attending star parties and I can sleep in the car if conditions get really bad.

Here's hoping 2008 is clearer and darker than 2007 was, especially for us here around the Great Lakes.

this is probably controlled by a relay. Check the wiring schematics and find the location of this relay and add a extension wire to the ground for it out to a switch that is easy to reach.

If you dont want to adjust the wiring try a brake light repair kit, has a large sheet of dark-red sticky film to cover the offending lights. Easy to apply, but difficult to remove.

If you want to brag at the star party, dont say you bought a new
mini-van; say you bought for a new goto mount with dual axis drives and a CD player.

I own a 2005 Caravan and the flashing "door opening" warning lights (front parking lamps and rear tail lights) CAN be disabled. As best as I can recall, it is done with the buttons on the key. The info is buried deep in the bowels of the owner's manual; I just tried finding it to no avail. Stop by or call any Dodge or Chrysler store; I'm sure they will help you out.
