i just got my Canon EOS 300D.(digital rebel) my question is: when you have it hooked up to a small 80mm f6 scope, and you focus via the telescope focusing knob, what does the camera try to do with autofocus? especially since there won't be a autofocus lens attached. TIA.

The camera should do nothing. It would be similar to using a manual focus lens, in this case the telescope.
