I just finished reading Big Sid's Vincati: The Story of a Father, a Son, and the Motorcycle of a Lifetime by Matthew Biberman. It's an excellent book by an English professor who connected with his aging father (a famous motorcycle tuner) by building motorcycles and in particular by building a hybrid vintage motorcycle which featured a Ducati frame and Vincent engine. The book combines an interesting biography, exciting motorcycle adventures, the journey to resolve ancient father-son conflict, dealing with aging and illness, family dynamics, and a quest to build a near mythical motorcycle. It's a good read. It's also worth rewarding any literature professor who writes about something other than gender roles in the Canterbury Tales. It's on Amazon, etc., and it received lots of good reviews. (But, secretly, I found it at my local Dollar Tree. Since Borders went under, they've got a lot of good books.)
