That's a bit of a stretch. Lots of people don't want to round up all Muslims, keep them in concentration camps, and send them to the Middle East or other far off lands. That would be regarded as an "ugly direction." Even GWB would probably side with that sentiment. The president has expressed a very mainstream Christian sentiment. Of course, once New York, D.C., Chicago, or LA have been obliterated by Muslim radicals with a nuclear device, people might change their minds.
