Do your animals ever observe the heavens?

I've noticed that our dog sometimes notices Venus in the early morning, notices the moon from time to time (especially when it is low), sometimes barks at the moon when it hides in the clouds, follows search lights when they are reflected off of low clouds, and notices various planes and helicopters.

I have several telescopes, but none are semi-APO, APO, or in anyway valuable.

Our cat usually spends the night with me when I am out observing, stretching out as close to my telescope as he can without getting stepped on. Can't say that I have ever noticed him taking an interest in observing though. wink

Our dogs tend to spend all their time outside with noses to the ground, and never look up.

When I have the slot open on the dome I will find my calico cat up on top looking down at me. Damned if I know how the hell she can get up there! 8O
