Anyone here find it a tad annoying when people who have never served and never will are extremely vocal and gung-ho about sending our military into harm's way? Clearly I'm not referring to people who are physically unable to. I am also not referring to veterans who have served proudly. I also recognize that one has the freedom to make a choice. However, it just bother me when people are so enthusiastic about war provided someone else goes and does the fighting.
Anyone find it a tad annoying?

How do you determine whether their position is really depending on the condition "provided someone else goes..."? I mean, I agree with you as far as you went, but unless they admit that they're only for it as long as they don't have to go, otherwise they would be against it, how do you know enough to be annoyed at them?

Don, I've modified my poistion over the last two months as more and more is made known. Sign me up now to go remove SH. (I actually did go to the Marine recruiting center last week and they smiled, took my name, and said "we'll get back to you if we need you, you old fart.") My Dad enlisted in the Navy on 12/8 after Pearl Harbor. That wasn't an immediate threat to the mainland - and the US supposedly even had warning.
I don't want to wait until he is an 'immediate threat'. It's too late then. I assume that after he has become an immediate threat you will be converted. Is there a tall building in B.C.? Are there millions of people in one area that could be affected by chem or bio terror? I don't think so. I live near NYC so I've already been a target of tis ilk. I was there on 9/11.
Maybe I should move to B.C. or some other bucolic place then I won't have to worry about it so much.
