Dual scope mounting, piggyback vs side by side

Hi everyone,

I am going to do a dual scope mount with a C11 and an AP 6" on a Losmandy Titan. Each ota with stuff weighs about 35lbs. I need to decide whether to mount the scopes side by side or piggyback. The advantage of piggy back is that the C11 would be at a more convenient viewing height (I would put it on the bottom with rings and mount the AP on the C11 rings). If you have experience with dual mounting, let me know. Any advice is appreciated!

Thanks, Jeff

Jeff,
I'm by not means a expert, but I've stacked an 80mm f/9 on a 4" f/15. The advantage is by adjusting the ota's at a right angle to the counter weight bar, it is easier to get a good balance. By mounting them side by side you balancing becomes that much more complicated. If it's a portable set up verses fixed, could also make a person change there minds. Alan
