I just checked on the Gas Buddy site and gasoline is selling in N.O. at a couple of places for $.879 and $.889/gallon. Around here(Alexandria), I saw it yesterday for $1.639.

Best price around my red neck of the woods, 2.59 at Costco. Gotta pay all that extra tax for BS road repairs. The stuff they throw down on the road is crap and they constantly pave the shoulder of the roads that nobody uses except in case of an emergency. The whole thing is a rip off.

Rod, if you want to see money well spent on roads, just take a trip through the countryside of Texas. The roads are well maintained and the speed limit is a comfortable 70mph. On the interstates, trucks are sent out to clean up any debris. I don't know how it is in CA, but the amount of litter along the roads in TX is minuscule compared to LA; I honestly believe that LA is the filthiest state in the entire US.

My beef is that we don't have to be charged exorbitantly high gas taxes in California to maintain the roads. Look at all the traffic that normally goes from Ca to Vegas 24/7. You cross the state lines into Nevada, or Oregon or Arizona for that matter and the gas prices are much less than Ca and their roads are maintained without the additional taxes to do it.

Actually, the proposition that I voted for to rescind the gas tax failed after special interests mounted a vigorous campaign with BS scare tactics like "first responders won't get to you because our roads are crumbling"--words to that effect.
But gas prices should soon rise again everywhere as oil prices jumped today on a Trump tweet:
