I thought the same folks that were for gun rights were also religious ...

So now churches are taking in "unwanted guns"?

A well armed home is a safe home, IMO...Unless Jesus says otherwise ;-)

A well-armed home is not a safe home if the gun owners are not decent, responsible citizens.

Your confusion stems from your pre-conceived notions and your overly liberal slant. smile No one is being forced to turn in their guns. The guns being turned in are obviously not loved, respected, wanted or taken care of and more than likely are more of a curse than a blessing and are better off out of the hands of irresponsible folks. They are probably old, neglected (and thus dangerous) and possibly illegal. Guns like that are the ones that are stolen in robberies or get out on the street and cause harm. The churches are doing a good thing for their community.

I am pro-gun but not pro-NRA (too extreme and unreasonable, IMO).

Gee, I know conservatives, liberals, Christians, and atheists who are pro gun. Guess some folks are easily confused. 8O 8O
