Can anyone share some information about San Rafael, CA? Is it a nice place to live and work? Where do middle class commuters live in California? Do you have to eat Tofu if you live in California? Are all California donut shops dangerous? I spent about a week in the San Francisco area as a honeymooner ten years ago and I've been to Petaluma, Walnut Creek, and Half-Moon Bay. But, I'm pretty much flying blind on California entirely. Thanks!

I have several telescopes, but none are semi-APO, APO, or in anyway valuable.

A visit to Anaheim awhile ago wasn't too bad. Lots better than Chicago.

It appeared customary to drive bumper-to-bumper 20 miles above the speed limit during rush hour. Rush hour seemed to start about 4 am. Rental cars had special license plate numbers easily ID'd by police, who seemed to prefer stopping ferriners in rental cars. Stay with the traffic flow and risk a ticket, or obey the speed limit and get run over .

Restaurant food was pretty good. One could find grits on breakfast menus and it didn't obviously gross-out the waitress, though my Canadian friends viewed grits as a strange bacterial specimen.

You better start learning to speak Spanish now. You'll need it.

Did you get the information you wanted?? Actually I think Marin county in general is a nice place to live... Not a cheap place but a nice place...
