The FOIA information in the article seems pretty straight forward and damning and ties back to the Fauci emails pretty tightly. Facts dont change no matter how many times or ways you call them lies.

I know the right-wing outrage machine is in full melt-down mode over these Fauci emails but in my humble opinion, anyone who thinks that Fauci is going to jail or that there is some conspiracy where Bill Gates and Fauci were working in cahoots with China to release a virus so they could get rich off a vaccine is quite a bit detached from reality.

I've read some of the emails and watched some of the commentaries and read several articles and fact-checks and what happened as far as I'm concerned is that Fauci changed his mind over time as facts on the ground changed. That's it. It's no more mysterious or nefarious than that.

That all sounds very reasonable James..... However, when you look at the information in the FOIA reports and match it up to corroborating emails it paints the picture quite differently imo. I get the outrage machine reference but then both sides of the fence have their outrage machines.....I tend to ignore that stuff and look at the reference material and make my own conclusions. Mine is Fauci got caught lying to both the government and the people, now whether he will suffer any consequences is another issue in itself.....I suspect he will just fade into the background not to be heard from again as happens in many cases.

Intentional lying is hard to prove. First, you have to prove the person intentionally misrepresented the truth. Even if you can prove that, unless the lying was for personal gain, it might not rise to a high level of unethical behavior. More commonly, people are mistaken or ignorant and not lying. More importantly, what possible motivation would Fauci have for lying about the efficacy of mask-wearing, for example? He's 80-something years old and has worked in public health his whole life. What in the world would he have to gain from lying about the need to wear masks? If you look at the timeline of the emails in question, he changed his mind over time as facts on the ground changed.

I agree with your post Greg, but I think Fauci will need to pay to keep things quiet and he does not go to jail where he belongs.

I'm confused. Are you seriously suggesting that Fauci might have to bribe someone to stay out of jail? And who would he be bribing, pray to tell?  And why would he need to even worry about going to jail? Has he been charged with anything? Has he been arrested? Is he under investigation? This is no longer just detachment from reality; it's bonkers.
