If part of the issue of Saddam's regime was the torture chambers, and they were manned by the Sunni Baathists, then isn't it a sad commentary that some Shia now seem to espouse the same techniques?
It's not an issue of the popular acceptance of these actions by either faction. But rather, that on some level, zealots feel that this type of thing is acceptable, regardless of their religo-political orientation.
