Is any obituary of McGovern complete that does not include the words "Watergate break-in", "cover-up", disgrace", and "impeach"? I don't think so.

RIP Senator - you, more than any other individual, were responsible for my not being sent to SE Asia to die.

If there's a man who stood by his convictions, it's was him. Even if it cost him an election.
As a captain flying his B-24 over Germany during the second world war, his plane took a direct hit and he faced the decision to bailout. Although his plane was on fire, he stayed with it and he brought his wounded back to his base.
History has shown him to be correct on Vietnam...
