This is a horseshit move by the DOJ. We don't have a real Attorney General, we have a Trump consigliere running the show.

All of this is just bullshit political machinations on the part of Trump. From what I can tell, absolutely none of this is part of a legally recognized settlement of a lawsuit. The judge who accepted Trump's withdrawal of the lawsuit even said that neither the IRS nor the DOJ had filed documents to ensure that the settlement was appropriate, given the fundamental question of whether genuine litigation even existed. Basically, Trump withdrew from the suit, and then the DOJ illegally and unconstitutionally and unilaterally created this slush fund, and the make-believe "immunity" out of thin air. There is nothing legally binding about any of it, and the next AG can rip it up, and almost certainly will if a Democrat is elected in 2028, and even if the AG doesn't, the Secretary of the Treasury can ignore it.

I guess what chaps me the most about this kind of stuff is how much money we waste on this crap. Trump and his AG both probably know there is no way any of this will ever survive real legal challenges, and it's really all about creating political red meat for his followers, and making sure that the insurrectionists and paramilitary groups that commit violence in his name are still available and loyal. Yet fighting and preventing them from acting on this pipe dream of theirs will needlessly cost us, the taxpayers, millions upon millions of dollars.

I suspect that things are at the point where Trump and team know they have to reopen the Strait, since our ability to absorb the shock of the closure will diminish rapidly as the world's emergency stockpiles are depleted, and other coping adaptations are strained to their limits. It will still take who knows how many months to untangle all the mess, and let's hope in the meantime a hurricane doesn't hit one of our refineries.

Here, let me just sum it up for the unhinged Loons here, Rod, Lacey, Moscheck, Carroll, James Brown, and any other leftist fool reading and writing their threads these days:  

The Socialist Democrat party for the last several decades has manipulated their states' redistricting maps so they can win elections by any means necessary, including their unconstitutional district mapping by race.  

Now, the Socialist Democrat party is whining that the Supreme court has reversed and thrown a monkey wrench into the Socialist Democrats' SCHEMEs for the last 40 years or more.

It is not a "wrecking ball" to the Voting Rights act, it has simply stopped the corrupt Socialist Democrat party from any further bastardization of the laws and the US Constitution.

The intention of the Voting Rights act was not created to simply Let Socialist Democrats win by any corrupt means necessary, it was intended to do what the name says, secure voting rights for all American citizens, the key word there being "citizens".

Now, let the whining, moaning, and crying  by the corrupt Socialist Democrats continue.
