Creation Sunday.

Hi all,

Looks like business as usual on the religion forum.

My church is holding a special service on creation, and I have been asked to work in some creative capacity to develop some background images and videos for the service.

The images/video will be displayed behind worship leaders as a background to "set the scene".

I've talked with the pastor, and by "creation" he means anything in nature which displays the glory of The Creator. He is leaving it up to me to put something together which is tasteful and flows with that theme.

I know that different people see God in creation from many different angles, and I was hoping to see a few more by "putting it out there" on this forum.

I'm looking for scripture that deals specifically with creation and ideas for images and video. Any other helpful suggestion is also appreciated.

Thank You,

Andrew

Hi Andrew -

If you're want blow-your-socks-off cosmic imagery you can spend hours paging through Hubblesite's album of galaxies and nebulae and such.

http://hubblesite.org/gallery/album/

Maybe also check out some satellite photos of Earth? If you have a broadband connection, download and run NASA's Worldwind program, it's very cool for this sort of thing.

For earthbound photography maybe a few images of unique or 'weird' lifeforms (glow-in-the-dark fluttery deep sea creatures, that sort of thing) or more familiar lifeforms in a grandiose setting for the desired psychological effect - i.e. sunrise over the serengeti or something.

Also vertical, arching things often give a subconscious impression of reaching for the 'heavens' (that's what they taught us in architecture class anyway grin ) so you know, things like redwood trees or a shot of Mount Everest or the Andes or something.
