Hi
I have begun to acquire a number of CCD images and wish to start post processing in Adobe Photoshop.

There are a lot of products out there. e.g. PhotoshopCS5. PhotoshopCS5 Extended, Photoshop Lightroom3 and Photoshop Element 9.

I suspect people are using CS5??

Any tips appreciated.
Thanks Craig

Hi Craig,
I use CS2, it is cheaper and works quite well, but one of the later versions would be great too. I see CS2 still for sale with a Google Search.

Hi Craig,
There are a few improvements beyond CS2 that would be of interest to an astrophotographer, but not many. If you can afford it, CS2 has just about all of the goodies that one would want.
Don't forget that the student discounts for Photoshop are substantial. If you have one in the family....
Pixinsight is an affordable alternative to Photoshop, but the learning curve is steep and not intuitive.

I think very useful gadget for all versions of PS is set of Noel Carboni " Actions". This works quite well and simplifying processing specially for begginers.
Clear skies.
