A&M XP3 for Guide Scope?

Hi,

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this.

Anyone using the A&M XP3 (Micrometric Piggyback) guide scope adjustment plate for their guide scope? Conceptually, this thing is similar to the Cassady TGAD, but doesn't require a tandem bar. Both are an alternative to "guide scope rings" which I've never much cared for.

Here are a couple of links:

Any results, good or bad, to report with the XP3? I'm thinking of putting a 2.75kg/6.05lbs guide scope (80mm refractor) plus necessary (fixed) rings and guide camera on top of it, for guiding my APM/TMB 152/1200 on an AP1200. I'm worried about rigidity and differential flexure though. Thoughts?

Hi Jim,

I have never seen or used one of those but it looks like flexure waiting to happen to me.

I have been guiding my VC200L at 1278mm on a 1200gto with a SBIG e-finder and remote guide head bolted directly to a DUP plate on top of the scope,it is effortless smile

Not sure what camera you are using though,
