Hi all,
I thought I would post a photo of my cable support strut that holds and routes my USB and power cables for all the imaging gear. There are Velcro straps that wrap around an Aluminum channel strut that is attached to a wooden block with grooves cut so the channel slides into the block at a slight angle, then held with two screws. The block is then mounted to an ADM Saddle which mounts to the upper saddle plate behind the guide scope.
This helps to keep the cable weight from pulling on the cameras and USB ports. I route the focuser cable, filter wheel, guide camera and imaging USB cables as well as the power cables, along this strut so they all exit behind the camera at the rear. Then the hang down with plenty of clearance from the tripod, pier and other things. I usually have the bundle of cables strapped to the Pier or Tripod as well, with a large loop for allowing the mount to move without pulling on the cables.
I did not put all the cables on for the picture, but I think the cables that are there demonstrate how they all would be routed.
I had some issues with the old routing when the cables got really cold and stiff. So, I decided to make something to eliminate the tight bundles. This works pretty well, even when cold.
