I was thinking about purchasing a CCD camera for Deep Space Imaging (galaxies, nebulae, etc.) I was going to pick up a Meade Deep Sky Imager 3 but they have been discontinued. I see that Celestron is releasing one in April 2012, 5Megapixels, 2.2 microns squared. Is that comparable to the Meade, will it be good for Deep Sky? I'm still trying to figure out what is the most important spec for a CCD.

I will be using a Meade LX-90 12" ACF. THANKS
