Hey guys...im new to the AP forum. Looking for a beginning CCD camera...something that is easy to use...yet can give me good DSO's, with no auto guiding or wedge for the moment being (i suppose I can autoguide without a wedge, if need be, if that isnt too hard) ..but with 30 second subs to stack, and possibly a f 6.3 or 3.3 reducer. I heard the Orion starshoot II color and meade DSI II color work well for this purpose..what do you guys recommend to a beginner on a budget? I have a nexstar 11 and i live in suburbia (south fla), under mag 2-3 skies id guess. Appreciate all and any info smile

If you have a DSLR already, and are brand new to imaging, start taking pictures with the DSLR before making any more investment. If you do not have a long telephoto for the camera, your next purchase should be a short refractor to ride atop the 11. It can be very difficult to learn on a big SCT because of the great focal length/magnification.
