There has been a bit of interest in the Bahtinov mask, a complex design but pretty cool! It works a bit differently from others, apparently from the intersecting lines at 90° and 20° from the 90°.
This is a picture of the mask type for a refractor.

So, I have been using string masks for a while after experimenting with Hartman types and finding them to be the easiest to use and make.
Looking at the design, I decided to try to make a string mask that might use the same principal, that would be easy to make.
Here is my easy string mask. Now to get a try to see if it actually works like the Bahtinov mask, with a moving center spike.
Not sure whether this is really going to work, but it will produce good spikes, just not sure what they will look like. wink
I will let you know how it works out. Maybe this will be a better mask than the cross hair string mask, who knows?
