Boy oh boy, it is amazing what some wind and less than average seeing can do to these small galaxies. Oh well, it is always fun under the stars. Here is the result of the effort - a kinda soft M99:

C8 at f/7.5
Artemis285 LRGB filters
G11/Gemini
Guiding - Megrez II at 1350 mm FL, DSI Pro, K3CCDTools

I am thinking that under these conditions I am better off getting more signal with either longer subs, or higher binning, or both. I don't think I got any benefit from a 1x1 bin on the luminance. Or maybe the better choice is to not image these subjects in these conditions.

Sure a bit soft but very clean. I have not heard of that camera before. The way I see it, I've got lots to learn still so I would still try under those conditions. What is the best use of softer nights, shooting colors 2x2?
